Earning and maintaining a Fitness Leadership Canada-recognized certification ensures that you have the prerequisite knowledge you need to deliver safe and effective fitness programs to your clients or class participants. FLC certifications are based on current evidence-informed practice and also provide you with affordable professional insurance.
FLC partners provide a range of certifications in group exercise or personal training. We also offer certificate programs for individuals who work with children and/or older adults. You must be 18 years or older to obtain FLC certification.
Certifications and education are available in the following areas:
Foundations in Physical Activity and Exercise (prerequisite knowledge)
Personal Training
Group Exercise
Aquatic Exercise
Older Adult Exercise
Resistance Training
All regionally affiliated FLC certifications provide insurance and are supported with professional development opportunities (conferences, courses and workshops) to help you stay up to date in current evidence-informed practice, and to maintain your accreditation and registration. Certifications delivered by FLC regional partners are transferable nationally and recognized internationally through the FLC and the International Confederation of Registers for Exercise Professionals.
